Have you ever reminisced about a hotel stay during your travels, where it felt like a second home? A stay that was truly distinctive, that somehow shifted something within you, leaving a mark that lingered long after checkout. If you're nodding with nostalgia, this post is for you! I've had my fair share of stays - Airbnb spots, swanky Four Season properties, cozy boutique hotels, and even a yurt. (Yes, I stayed in a yurt while traveling in Alaska - pretty cool experience when you're 20…now I require more amenities lol!) For me, a hotel that falls under slow stay invites one to deepen our connection to the places and people we visit, allowing us to create everlasting memories that we take with us and feel well after the trip.
As you already know, I love nothing more than to research travel trends…new hotel openings, authentic local experiences, and featuring inspiring creatives doing cool stuff in the hospitality industry. So, if you're looking for hotels doing things differently that will immerse you in the culture of travel and pay attention to minor details, then this series is for you.
I was inspired to start the series with Hudson Valley since I was just there two weeks ago (I can't even believe it's already been that long! Where does the time go?) - the area is having a rebirth. There's so much to update you on, but for now, here are three properties on my radar that I'm excited to introduce you to.
oh…and don’t forget to scroll down for the Hudson Valley packing list. My inspiration was the Aime Leon Dore Fall 23 lookbook…it’s a vibe. :)
Inness
If I owned a country home in upstate New York, I'd definitely jot down decor ideas from Inness. Personally, I'd infuse a touch of more color, but all in all, the property has a dreamy ambiance with its Scandinavian-inspired design. If you're looking for an idyllic look and feel this property hits the spot….the property sits on a piece of land without interrupted views for miles and miles. It’s the perfect retreat for city folks to decompress and get away.
the scoop
They've got 28 classy cabins and a 12-room farmhouse with a cool local ranch feel.
If you're up for fun, they have golf and tennis to bring your A-game. But if you're all about chill vibes, kick back and soak up the sun at the adult-only swimming pool. 🏊♂️☀️
Craving some TLC? They've got a spa and a place to shop for curated goodies. Word on the street is that the curation is perfection - if you can't make it in-person, browse their online shop! 🛍️😊
