Hi!
I hope you’re cozy, maybe with a coffee and croissant on the side (yum!) Sunday is my favorite day of the week - I love starting slow, visiting the farmer’s market, reading at my own pace, and planning for the days ahead. But today is even more special because it marks the official launch of our book club. This week, we’re diving into The New Tourist, beginning with chapters 1 and 2. If you missed the last newsletter, don’t worry. You can catch and learn more about the book club by clicking here. It’s open to everyone.
Now for the surprise…
Exciting news! Paige McClanahan, the author of The New Tourist, has graciously agreed to join us for a Zoom discussion. How amazing is that?! So, for those participating, get ready to take notes and jot down your thoughts because on Saturday, October 19th at 10 AM EST, you’ll have the chance to share your insights with her directly. I can’t wait!
Now what happens this week….

Book Club Office Hours
Next Saturday, I’ll go LIVE on the Substack Chat for book club office hours from 9 AM EST to 10 AM EST. This conversation space is exclusively for subscribers—like a group chat or live hangout. I’ll post questions and updates that come my way, and you can jump into the discussion. You’ll have access to it with this link or via the Substack app (for those using the app - open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside). The goal is to discuss the first two chapters of the book and share our own travel experiences. Grab your cafecito, get comfy, and join us for some fun! :)
If you haven’t grabbed the book, check your local bookstore or Barnes & Noble. One reader mentioned she borrowed hers from the library, which is a great option, too! And if all else fails, there’s always Amazon.
Wishing you a slow and restorative Sunday! Talk to you soon.
