Mexico City, the largest city in the Western Hemisphere, faces challenges due to its size. With 23 million people, green spaces are even more crucial. One of the things I loved most about Mexico City was the abundance of greenery….everywhere! No matter where you were, you were never too far from nature.

While larger parks like Bosque de Chapultepec and Parque Alameda are the most visited, Parque Mexico was the closest to us and the one I became most intimately familiar with. This is where I strolled with my coffee, sat, and people-watched, daydreamed, meditated to the sound of the water abundantly flowing in the fountain, and stalked all the dogs—I had never seen so many dogs in one park in my entire life! But most importantly, Parque Mexico was a place to get a closer look at the locals in the neighborhood. I enjoyed watching people go about their daily lives: walking with friends, playing the guitar, jogging, families with their kids at the playground, skateboarders, vendors selling crafts, and lovers kissing on the benches. Parque Mexico is a little microcosm of life in Mexico City. It’s where urban life, such as social interactions, leisure activities, and community, are all present in one place.
I hope that wherever you are, you receive this newsletter in your inbox and feel the magic and peace of Parque Mexico, and all that surrounds it.

Below is a pocket-size itinerary for a morning in the area. All these suggestions are in proximity to the park.

A Pocket Guide: Parque Mexico
While I love discovering new places, I’m also a creature of habit, and my morning rituals are sacred to me. Here are a few spots I’d visit regularly as part of my morning routine.
Wellness / Commando Fitness Studio - for a kick-ass workout. It’s similar to Barry’s Bootcamp but better. :)
Breakfast / Mendl’s for the best bagel in CDMX! Don’t forget to grab a T-shirt and a black and white cookie on your way out.
Stroll / Parque Mexico for a walk, a picnic, some people watching, or daydreaming.
Shop / Donde Clara to get your creative juices flowing + Laguna Cyprien for the yummiest scents.
Groceries / Smart Food for sustainable options —I purchased our seafood and pantry items here, all grown organically and sustainably.
Travel Book Club coming soon….
